Seeking Supervision

Welcome to Seeking Supervision, where access to streamlined supervision will ensure increased access to mental health care for all communities, through fostering inclusivity and quality service.

At Seeking Supervision, we recognize the importance of supervision in the development of mental health professionals. Supervision, a weekly 1-hour meeting, is vital in fostering the skills and self-reflection necessary to ensure ethical professional development, opportunity to navigate fostering the well-being and success of both the individual and their clients.

Our platform addresses critical challenges in the mental health profession. With over 50,000 mental health professionals seeking to advance their clinical licenses, there's a pressing need for a streamlined supervision system. Currently, the process on average takes 6 to 8 years, far longer than the desired 2 to 3 year timeframe identified by focus groups in 2023 and according the Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapist Board.

Moreover, the lack of representation within the BIPOC community in mental health care is increasingly concerning. Only about 1% of mental health professionals are African American, highlighting the need for increased diversity and inclusivity in the field.

On a social level, hundreds of thousands of individuals in Ohio alone face barriers to accessing timely mental health care. By providing supervision that promotes diversity and inclusivity, we aim to address this disparity, ensuring that clients can find professionals who understand and reflect their identities and experiences.
